Rejection !
I have seen many dreams being made and broken over the past few months and somehow I can't stop wondering at the irony of it all. Well,it all began with the CAT and with B-school results pouring in day in and day out, friend circles are a melange of happy, sad, introspective, satisfied and dissatisfied faces. I guess crucial junctures in life are always very torturous and the most frustrating are those with the 'x-factor',who never face rejection anywhere and find a smooth sailing all through .
Whatever the case , but I strongly believe that at times there is very little difference between people who get in and those left out.At the end of the day it is lady luck which rules the roost. Your presence of mind at that time, the kind of panel you face or the group you are in. In fact , I have seen some very arbitrary selections with some very deserving, intelligent people not making the final cut.
"I had four calls and I couldn't convert even one.I have no expectations from anywhere now"...its heartbreaking to see such an unfair face of life but I guess the scenario of competitive exams in India will always be like this , some getting through in their very first attempt and some unfortunate others wasting precious years of their life,in some cases chasing a lost cause.
Tell me whats more important---Google,Microsoft, Lehmann brothers,IIM BLACKI .... I think there is something far more important ...
" I,me,myself and my life which is only once and should be enjoyed to the hilt,no matter the number of failures I face .. maybe I can be something else - a dancer, a travel writer,an interior designer,a journalist..come on,if I have come into this world,I have to be bonkers good at something! "
Success is a very relative term and its your attitude which determines how high you rise in life. Exams can never be the judge of the caliber of any person--the irony is that often we spend so long pondering over a closed door that we refuse to look at the one thats open!!
