Spandan @ IIIT B !!!
Many of you must be wondering what is Spandan . Spandan is a mix of cultural activities & sports activities in IIIT B . Till 2005 , many such activities were conducted , but from 2006 onwards Spandan is now reduced to a mere Sports activities . This year juniors were responsible for conducting Spandan .
The various sports activities that were included in this year's Spandan were :
Though sending out a formal invitation to all the current IIITBians and to the Alumni was bit of hotchpotch , but finally all were informed in some or the other manner . Spandan finally got underway on 9th February 2008 with Cricket - the king of all games in India . There were total 9 teams who wished to participate for Cricket ; 2 from Alumni , 3 from Juniors and 4 from our batch . The teams were divided into 3 pools based on the famous chit system . My team was in Pool ' B ' . I was unanimously chosen to lead the side .
Since some of the players were not available in the next week , I requested the coordinators Rohit and Abhilash to schedule our league matches on 9th and 10th itself .
Our squad was :
The inaugral match was between my team and one of the Alumni team who were one of the serious contenders to win the Tournament . The match was slated to start at 9 am .
I know , that this post is too late ( and too old as well !!! ) . But to keep you people updated , I will be posting about the daily events .
